Girls On The Run of Atlanta was founded in the Spring of 2000 and is part of
the national Girls on the Run program. Girls on the Run is a
life-changing, experiential learning program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade.
The programs combine training for a 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem
enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the programs are to encourage
positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development.
The award-winning curriculum has been featured on NBC News and in Runner’s
World.
GOTR's mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of
self-respect and healthy living. Our program includes running workouts and games
that teach specific life skills such as how to make healthy decisions, resolve
conflict and get along in a group. For girls of all athletic abilities.
